YEARNING FOR COLOUR

Today I completed my second Master's degree at Fashion&Technology with honors. Titled YEARNING FOR COLOUR. PIGMENT PRODUCING BACTERIA FULFILLING FASHIONABLE DESIRES, I explored bacterial dyeing, fermentation dyeing and the translation of bacterial growth into language, music and form of the resulting garments. In a performance, Smirna Kulenovic and Aron Hollinger entered into a dialogue with bacteria and transported the audience into a mystical world that demonstrated the healing energy of water and its importance in a profound, touching way and introduced bacteria as potential healers for the dyeing industry.
