For the exhibition "Between darkness and light" at OK Linz I created an object that was inspired by the atmosphere the moon created in the expressionist silent movie „The cabinet of Dr. Caligari“ by Robert Wiene from 1920.

As the title "MAZE. Possibilities in laser engraving of textiles" already reveals, my bachelor project is dealing with the technique of textile laser engraving. After a long research period on the lasercutter, I created a textile collection that uses this technique on different fabrics. Therefore, a focus was laid on fabrics that are not yet very common for textile laser engraving. My bachelor project tries to depict the diversity of the investigated technique, which allows different color- as well as surface changes of the fabric.

With this art piece entitled "Memory of Textile" I‘d like to show the value of old textiles. The object seems like a scrap on the first sight, on the second one however one can recognize pictures in the surface deteriorations and holes. Like scars on a human‘s skin the traces of deteriorations reveal the history of the textile itself.
